On Saturday, we successfully concluded the week-long Sterile Processing Facility-Level Training and Certification programme for the Greater Accra pilot hospitals with an intensive practical training session focused on knowledge application and hands-on skills development.

The closing practical session provided participants the opportunity to apply the concepts and international sterile processing standards covered throughout the training week in a real-world setting. From instrument identification and handling to workflow application and sterile processing techniques, participants demonstrated commitment, professionalism, and a strong willingness to learn.

It was especially encouraging to see participants translate theory into practice with confidence while engaging deeply with the practical exercises designed to test their understanding and strengthen their technical competence.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all participants for their dedication, active engagement, and commitment throughout the training.

We are equally grateful to the leadership of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ridge, Tema General Hospital, and Achimota Hospital for their support and for making it possible for their staff to participate in this important capacity-building initiative.

Special thanks also go to the facilitators from The Alpha Health Group Inc. for their technical leadership and dedication in delivering the training, as well as the coordinating team from Ghana Health Service Headquarters for their collaboration and support in driving this initiative forward.

As we wrap up activities in Greater Accra, we now look forward to continuing this important work in the Eastern Region, which begins next week.

Strengthening sterile processing systems is a critical investment in safer surgical care, infection prevention, and improved patient outcomes, and it has been inspiring to witness the collective commitment toward this shared goal.
