A significant milestone in Ghana’s journey towards strengthening Central Sterile Services Departments (CSSDs).

Assembled at the Coconut Grove Hotel, Accra, consultants from The Alpha Health Group Inc.., led by our CEO, working in collaboration with the Infection Prevention & Control (IPC)/Quality Assurance team of the Ghana Health Service, alongside representatives from Jhpiego, our valued funding partner, to develop Ghana’s National CSSD Guidelines, Templates, and Operational Tools.

This technical working session builds on the nationwide baseline assessments conducted across selected health facilities in the Greater Accra, Eastern, Volta, and Western Regions. The insights gathered from these assessments are now being translated into practical, evidence-based guidance that will help standardize sterile processing practices across the country.

The development of these national resources marks a pivotal step towards:
✅ Strengthening infection prevention and control
✅ Improving patient safety and surgical outcomes
✅ Standardizing CSSD operations nationwide
✅ Building a resilient and sustainable sterile processing system for Ghana

It is inspiring to witness the commitment of all partners as we work together towards a shared vision of safer healthcare for every Ghanaian.

We look forward to the outcomes of this collaborative engagement and the subsequent validation, dissemination, and official launch of Ghana’s National CSSD Guidelines.
